Indian Sewing Fun!

As part of our India topic, we have spent the last few weeks designing and making our own patches to be part of an Indian wall hanging.

After lots of patient and careful sewing - look what beautiful creations we have made...

A Delicious Indian Buffet in 3/4

This week year 3/4 had the opportunity to try lots of different Indian foods. We tried chicken korma; chicken tikka masala; onion bhajis; naan breads; mango chutney; samosas; raita and pilau rice. This was the first time for many to try these foods and lots of children said they would love to eat them again. We were very impressed that so many children gave everything a taste!

Cross Country Championships

We are so proud of each and every one of our runners this morning who represented St Gilbert's in the annual cross country championships. What a wonderful event: the sun was shining and the children were smiling. Thank you to SWA for organising the day; thank you to the parents and staff who gave up their Saturday morning to give their support. But most of all, thank you to all the pupils who took part - you were an inspiration!

Prokick Challenge is a Hit!

Thankyou to our pupils who took part in the Prokick Challenge earlier this week.

A lot of fun was had when Harvey, from Sports Connections Foundation, put us through our paces kicking a ball as fast as we could  into a huge inflatable goal!

Your sponsors will help to positively improve the lives of young people in the UK and abroad through education and sport.

Please return all sponsor forms and money by Wednesday.

Certificates and prizes will be awarded later in the week.

We are Fine Class

Bill's New Frock, Goggle Eyes, The Diary of A Killer Cat - these are just a few of the amazing books written by Anne Fine and we are named after this well-known author - we are Fine Class. You could find out more about Anne Fine here.

From topics on Romans and Ancient Egyptians to Pirates and Superheroes, we aim for our Year 3/4 studies to encourage everyone to be independent, curious learners and to discover new skills and knowledge in a fun-filled way.
