Indian Sewing Fun!

As part of our India topic, we have spent the last few weeks designing and making our own patches to be part of an Indian wall hanging.

After lots of patient and careful sewing - look what beautiful creations we have made...

A Delicious Indian Buffet in 3/4

This week year 3/4 had the opportunity to try lots of different Indian foods. We tried chicken korma; chicken tikka masala; onion bhajis; naan breads; mango chutney; samosas; raita and pilau rice. This was the first time for many to try these foods and lots of children said they would love to eat them again. We were very impressed that so many children gave everything a taste!

Cross Country Championships

We are so proud of each and every one of our runners this morning who represented St Gilbert's in the annual cross country championships. What a wonderful event: the sun was shining and the children were smiling. Thank you to SWA for organising the day; thank you to the parents and staff who gave up their Saturday morning to give their support. But most of all, thank you to all the pupils who took part - you were an inspiration!

We're shaping up well in maths!

We've been working hard on 2D shape in Strong Class.  We've used mathematical language to talk about the properties of 2D shapes and have investigated symmetry.

Welcome to Strong class! We are named after the famous, and very funny author, Jeremy Strong. At the moment we are reading 'Dr Bonkers' and have great fun laughing at the funny antics that all the characters get up to. Have a look at the following site if you want to find out more information on Jeremy Strong.

Life in Year 3/4 is very exciting and we cover some fantastic topics, including Pirates, Egyptians and Victorians.
