25/01/2018: More football news

Our football matches this week were away at Malcolm Sargent. We were fortunate enough to be able to take both our A and B teams along - the children all played exceptionally well and displayed great determination despite the fierce opposition! The A team's match finished 3-0 to Malcolm Sargent and the B team's match finished 4-3 to the home team also. Thank you again to all of the parent helpers who supported our players and helped with transport. Next week our A team take on Uffington at home... 


24/01/2018: Y5.6 Athletics Team off to Grantham!

On Tuesday evening our Y5.6 athletics team travelled to the Borderville centre to compete in an indoor athletics tournament. The children had to take part in a variety of running, jumping and throwing events and they were all fantastic! We were so proud of their teamwork, encouragement for their team and other schools and their superb skill demonstrated. As the results came in, we were all super nervous but after the children’s hard work and determination we found out we won the tournament! We are off to Grantham this Friday to compete in the large schools sportshall athletics. Fingers crossed – we will keep you posted! Once again, thank you for the continued parent support.


18/01/2018: Nail-biting game!

Last night, our Y5.6 football team played against Ryhall and the match ended in a 3-3 draw! Both sides played well, they displayed great enthusiasm, and fantastic sportsmanship. A big thank you to all the parents who helped with lifts and for their support!


18/01/2018: Fun at the Goalball tournament!

On Thursday, six children from Y5.6 took part in a goalball tournament at Stamford Welland Academy. The children were nervous at the start at playing a game with blindfolds on but they swiftly learnt the rules and had lots of fun! All children behaved superbly and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They came 2nd in the tournament! Well done to the children involved and thank you to parents for supporting with lifts.


11/01/2018: A great start for football!

The Y5.6 football team kicked off their season with a triumphant win against St Augustine's. The boys were a little nervous at the start but soon got into the swing of things and managed to win their first game with a winning score of 2-0! Thank you to all parents/grandparents and children for coming to support. Next week's game is away at Ryhall - we'll keep you posted!

 


28/11/2017: Minister of State for Education congratulates our school

The Rt Hon Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards recognises school success...

We were thrilled to receive a letter from the minister congratulating the school on its 95% pass rate in the Year 1 Phonics Screen 2017. This has placed the school in the top 8% of primary schools nationally.


23/11/2017: Premier League Trophy Visit

On Wednesday, 6 children from Y3.4 took part in an indoor premier league football tournament. The children had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the premier league trophy – lots of smiles all around! The children won all four games and competed in the nail-biting final against Malcom Sargent with a winning score of 4-3! We were very proud of the sportsmanship and talents displayed by all the children.


21/11/2017: Ben Smith 401 Marathon Visit

Today, we were very lucky to have another visit from Ben Smith (401 Marathon man)! The children really enjoyed his visit and were eager to ask lots of questions. Ben will be completing his 'American Challenge' in 2020 and the children will have an opportunity to follow this through virtual reality. We very much look forward to this.
