Meals should be ordered at least a week in advance. You may order as far ahead as the latest menu allows or order week-by-week but orders must be placed by 3pm on a Tuesday for meals the following week. Alternatively, children may bring packed lunches with healthy foods to school. In line with our Healthy Schools ethos, sweets and fizzy drinks are not permitted.
Note that we are a nut-free school. We have children and staff in school with nut allergies and would ask for your support in ensuring that nuts of all kinds and nut products (for example, peanut butter, chocolate and hazelnut spreads), are not brought into school for snacks or lunchtimes.

Free School Meal Application
We want to make sure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. Healthy school food has obvious health benefits and can help pupils establish healthy habits for life. Healthy school food can also help to improve pupils’ readiness to learn.
Registering for free meals could also raise an extra £1,480for your child’s school, to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff, uniform and after school activities and trips. This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving one of the benefits listed below.
If your child receives a free meal under the universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) initiative, we would still encourage you to complete an application so that we may check eligibility in the future. You only have to carry out this process once for your child.
Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for free school meals. Your child is eligible for free school meals if you’re in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400.
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
